I have seen people bricking their Aces recently using ROM Manager......

The problem is that you're not supposed to be flashing recovery from there when you already have a custom one yourself!
Use this:
Launch ROM Manager > Menu soft key > Manual Flash Override

DONE!

Anyway I bricked my phone without any custom recovery already present!
