Importing contacts when switching ROMs

I want to start using the F1 Galaxy Nexus ROM on my S2 i9100 but when I install (with gapps) my contacts are not automatically imported - even when I try backing them up with my Google account.

Does anyone know how to recover my contacts without entering them manually again? Some other roms automatically restore my contacts.

Thanks, any help appreciated :)

hi there! i faced the exact same problem. There are a few ways to solve this:

you can use this app Backdrop Root that can import SMS/Contacts/App data etc by using Dropbox:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5oYW5keWFuZHkuYmFja2Ryb3AiXQ..

the other one is by saving all your contacts to google. You would need to copy all of em to your google account. Whether this is in the best interest of your contacts themselves is up to you to decide. I, personally, find it convenient but i'm unsure of the security.

BTW the F1 galaxy nexus rom is awesome!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

You could go into Contacts > Menu > Import/Export > Export to SD card... this will then save a copy of all your contacts to the external SD card. After flashing your ROM, you can reverse the process and import them again.

Is there a way of saving contacts with the individual ringtone/pic and then restoring them after installing a new rom?its a pain having to do this everytime, i have titanium backup pro and Mybackup pro but cant seem to find a way to do this.:(:smokin:
