Importing fuel consumption file, which app?

I have a txt file detailing fuel consumption of the last 2 years of 2 vehicles, I noticed that both Fuelio and Fuel Friend Lite (both free) allow me to import this file but I just don`t understand how to do it, still it should be correct what I do, anyone has already imported this kind of file and with which app?

It depends on the format of the file. If it's csv (quotes around text items, commas between items), any spreadsheet app (any app that can handle Excel files) should work.

Otherwise you'll have to tell us what format the data is in. "Text" doesn't tell us enough, unless you just want to look at the file - then any note editor app will do it.

Well, this is the file, it's a .txt which can be easily "converted" in google docs and I know many apps can import from google docs, but both Fuelio and Fuel Friend say something like 'file not found' when I try to import them, that's where I'm stuck.

{"prefs": {"selectedVehicleId": 2, "distanceUnit": "km", "volumeUnit": "li", "mileageOrder": "mpg", "currencyUnit": "

I use aCar and that will import a csv file. At the import stage it also has a handy page about exactly what it will import and exactly what format the columns etc should be in.

Alistair_,

It sounds like you may need to try to convert your file into a CSV format; that will likely take some doing, but Excel's "Text to Columns" function may be able to assist you.

Have you tried aCar to do it? Mind you, I've never imported to aCar, since I've always used it.

This reminds me that I need to get aCar set up for my new ride :p

I converted the file but aCar free only lets you import the first ten lines, which is useless so I already deleted it, at the least though it's the only app that told you WHERE the actual csv file should be, which is the main obstacle I'm facing with the other apps as they keep saying "file not found" exactly as they did with the txt file, with Fuelio for instance I tried putting the csv into the Fuelio folder but no luck, where do these damn files go?

Only help I can offer is to contact the developer. I wound up paying for aCar but I never use the paid features
