In-App Purchasing Price Question

Stigy

Some say...
Just looking to get some information from fellow Android users about money they spend in the Google Play Market/Store.

Developing an app and it will be totally free, but ad-supported (at the bottom and non-intrusive). I have setup an In-App Purchase to remove the ads, but my question comes with pricing. Obviously $0.99 is the lowest you can set the price so my thinking is to set it at $1.99 to start and see if people buy it or not. Setting it at $1.99 also allows me to also set a sale price for a week or two (at $0.99) and offer a discount, which I believe would make more users buy it since they can only get it at that price for a limited time.

So my question is would you pay $1.99 to remove an advertisement from an app? Would you be more willing to buy it $0.99? AND would you buy it at $0.99 if it was on sale from $1.99 - thanks!

I'll buy an application that fit my needs regardless of the price. But I'm sure that if you put it at $.99 cents you'll get more supporters (whether it has ads or not) :)

It might not seem relevant, but what is the app. I would pay for an app I use a lot but if it i would only use it a few times then I'm less likely to buy it.

I tend to think anything above $0.99 must be one amazing app/game, since all my favourites are $0.99. I wouldn't even look at a $1.99 one unless it's awesome and I wouldn't pay $1.99 just to remove ads. So I'm with skiiermike, what's the app?
