Root In call distortion issues

Ive noticed in certain calls people sound very tinny and a garbled effect wrapped around their voices..no distortion in the background just their voices. Was curious if SRS/MusicFX could be the root cause or maybe the ear piece speaker is the issue? My friend has the phone also and said his boss sounds funny when hes in a call with him. Or maybe it could be signal?
 
And speaking of the built in EQ...I have never been able to set it on anything other than the preset or one of the customer settings...none of the others seem to do anything.
 
I don't know what rom you are on but I would recommend uninstalling srs and dsp effects. Well back them up first with titanium or something. If you still want effects I would recommend trying the combination of extreme beats and viper4android.
 
I believe Ill take that advice. I already had the two deleted completely from the system and had beats installed but it sounded funky while playing music. The volume level kept fluctuating while playing songs. I think Ill go with viper.

If you are still having problems you can pm which version you want along with your Email and I can send it to you that way. There is an extreme bass version and a studio version.
Also note if you would like the viper4android presets.

I wouldn't know as I use my phone over WiFi only and sounds great. Have you tried any of the KitKat based roms? They have a different way of doing audio as they have different drivers and kernels. I personally am very happy with the latest build of slimkat by phenomx4.
 
Havent used them since latest releases. But I may need to in order to get rid of that annoying tinny sound quality and awful distortion. Which i might add isnt only the phone,its also sprints crappy signal coverage...even in an area like mine completely saturated with sprint towers...the signal is still poor.
 
Depends on what version you want. I believe in the upper right corner there is two squares. Clicking the one that is not already checked will give you a detailed view. I use the v1 of the extreme beats myself.
 
That's the first folder OK so do u have to flash in recovery or its an apk file I'm at the doctors right now gotta wait till I get home I rather download on wifi
 
Yes you flash it in recovery. There are no apps to control it though. I would suggest also installing viper4android and get the extreme beats profiles and unzip theme into the viper4android profile folder. Then you can load the profile of your choice in viper4android and use its eq and other settings. Viper4android is an apk. You may have to unzip it. Also the viper4android profile folder will be under the viper4android folder on your SD card. It is created after you run the viper4android program.
 
I didn't download the compatibility one. I downloaded the v1 extra bass and it flashed with no problem with the latest twrp. Just went back into twrp and flashed the studio 2 version with no problem.
 
Extreme beats has nothing to configure so there are no icons for it. The Viper4android directory is made after you run it. Then you would extract the extreme beats profiles to the sd/viper4android/profiles directory. Once in viper4android you would use the button on are phone in the lower right corner for more options and then choose load effect profile.
 
Everything seems louder I love acid doesn't work right on the 4.4 acid popped my last phones speaker well my chick did I told her don't turn it all the up just in the car never listens
 
Extreme beats includes parts of practically all other sound mods including acid. It should sound clearer now and better than before besides just being loud.
 
It sounds great I'm trying to extract extreme beats can't seem to figure it out lol I want the more options that u mentioned
