My Droid 4 (rooted) has very low volume at the earpiece during phone calls. The volume is maxed, but in-call volume is so low I can barely hear the voice on the other end. Speaker phone, bluetooth headset, and headphones all sound fine (or even too loud at max volume), but the earpiece is very low. I tried the "Earpiece" app, but could barely notice a difference when I put in the maximum possible boost. I have also tried cleaning the earpiece. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Is there some way to artificially boost the in-call volume beyond the max?

Hello and welcome to the forums. I see your having a problem with your volume . can I ask are you rooted or running any mods or custom roms
Are you sure of the volume settings (multiple) on your root-ed phone? I found them to be one of the most confusing aspects of the Android approach.
I have used ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cb.volumePlusPro (there is also a free version) ... for years to control the multiple volumes. Mu GUESS is that if you try it you will see the Voice call volume is set lower than you expect.
