Help In call volume

Whenever I make or receive a call the "in-call" volume is at about 50%. Is there anything I can do to permanently set it to the maximum volume? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S.

I am not familiar with your phone. But I had a phone in the past that had an auto volume feature. It would adjust itself depending on the surrounding noises.
I would check your sound settings to make sure an option like that isn't checked.
