Help In car bluetooth stopped working

indi3

Lurker
I have an HTC One XL, bought it a week ago. Up until this morning the bluetooth was working perfectly in both cars I drive (integrated bluetooth through car stereo, not an after market bluetooth product). Today however I can still access the phone book etc and make calls but the calls don't play through the car's audio system. When the phone is on a bluetooth call I can press what is usually the speaker button and get three options, one being the car's audio which is selected, it just doesn't work.

Does anyone know why it has stopped working and what I can do to fix? I've debonded the phone with both vehicles and reconnected to no avail. Other phones work properly in both vehicles.

Running Android 4.0.4.

Thanks

Try dialing direct from phone while hooked to bluetooth in the car. Does it give you an option to play through bluetooth or go private?

This seems to be a problem with ICS. I've found a few other posts on different forums about this, looking because I'm having similar problems. I switched from an iPhone 4 which paired automatically every time I got in my car, now to the One X and I have to manually pair every time my car is shut off. Try turning wifi off, even if you're not connected to a network. This seems to send data better to my car's stereo (battery life and signal strength in my situation). If my wifi is on it will only send sound, but not the battery/signal info. Can't do anything about auto-pairing though. I'm also getting an occasional momentary squelch while streaming Pandora. Anyone else getting that?

Has no one else experienced this? My Bluetooth as worked fine. In my car and with my 2 different headsets. Suddenly, and without adding any new apps, it just stops. It actually a pairs and I can here the connection sound, and see it's selected as the outsource during a call but caller can't hear me and I can't hear caller. If I switch to the speaker or handset, the call is there. Switch to the bluetooth and there's no sound.

This is the second HTC One X phone I've had with the same issue. I had to revert to factory reset to resolve but I'm getting tired doing that.

I am using the One X with my SEAT Leon's OEM bluetooth with no problems whatsoever, and I am on a custom ROM called Viper by Team Venom. I have yet to use the "Car" application that came with the ROM, though.
