Lurker
I have a user whose email address is jdoe@something.com. However when anyone clicks reply to an email they get an undeliverable with the following error:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
something.com\joedoe (something.com\joedoe@something.com
The e-mail address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.
This is Office365 environment. This just started to happen yesterday according to the end user.

Does the same thing happen in outlook and OWA? Or just email.apk? Have the outlook properties changed? Do you use AD sync?

I'm an office 365 admin but we only transitioned from bpos last month.

I've seen this with outlook but it was an nk2 cache issue. So the user is 365 and the recipient is 365?

Oh btw I removed all the text formatting in my quote so those of us using the tapatalk app can read it. Black text on black background = fail

This just happens when the individual sends an email from his phone. It does not happen when he sends out of his Outlook client or OWA. I had him send me an email to both my 365 account and to my yahoo account and had the same results.

Ok. I was looking at links to set up 365 on android to send to a user today (as we don't Support this) and most the links said to set up the username as something.com\joedoe@something.com.

This is funny because that's the error you get replying.

On my sgs3 for o365, my username and email address are the same. Joedoe@something.com. nothing more. No domain prefix

Then my server simply m.outlook.com

Try looking at those settings

Yes, I looked at those settings and they are correct. They are the same as the other users, that is the part that has me confused. I did end up having him remove the account and readd it. Once I did that it started working correctly. These are the settings that I used.

email--jdoe@something.com
password--their ad password
user name--joedoe@something.com
server name--m.outlook.com
domain--something.com (if needed)

I have found over past usage if they have domain in front of their username it messes things up when trying to configure the account. It always appears after the account has been configured (on most droids).

Thank you for you help on this matter.

Domain also not required for use on our 365 tennant.

User
Email
Server
Pass
SSL
We use the SSL also, but do not have them check the client ssl as it is not needed for 365.

If you have any questions for me in the future feel free to send me a message.

Thank you again
