Root In need of a better kernel

I recently flashed "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.zip" from over on xda in order to get rid of the annoying "low on storage space" issue that kept popping up. It worked to fix the low space warning, but now my DINC runs sticky, freezing temporarily every so often. I'm thinking that with the rooted stock Gingerbread rom i have on my DINC, it could stand to have either a better kernel, radio, or both. Here is a link to my current phone stats.

I also saw the xda thread for the most updated gingertiny kernels, but they say that they are for sense roms and I don't think i'm running a sense rom. As such, a better kernel that would work with my rom would be awesome. Any suggestions?

Gingertiny kernel thread, for anyone who may want to peruse it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238166

If you are stock, you are running "sense", sense is HTC's launcher :). AOSP would be cyanogen, MIUI, AOKP, etc.

Just make a backup before flashing any kernel, as a bad flash will put you in a boot loop :).

The kernel that flashes with the ext4 mod (gingertiny) is the best kernel your going to get for sense gb on the inc. Plus since you are using the ext4 mod, you need a kernel that supports ext4. What governer/io handler are you using with the kernel?

Forgot about that mod needing a ext4 kernel...

@sleepy , you may also just want to wipe your caches, it might help speed things up too.

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by governer/ IO handler. If you tell me where in my phone I can find said information, I think I could provide it.

Also, what caches do you mean? The cache, cache partition, and/or dalvik?

I apologize for all the noob questions, but I'm still new to flashing & recovering.

Download an app like incredicontrol or setcpu. With them you can change what governor and io the kernel uses. A governor is like a set of rules on how the cpu scales up and down in speed, the io scheduler handles how files are written and read from the memory. You can also over or underclock the cpu changing its min and max values, speeding it up or slowimg it down and conserving battery. You can also over or under volt, providing less or more power to each frequency. The kernels default governer is smartassV2, for better performance you may want to try lagfree, ondemand or performance governors. Ondemand is the stock default governor. I wouldnt mess with voltages or anything untill you do some research and know what your doing.

Cache and the cache partition are the same thing. So wipe both the cache and dalvik-cache.
