Help In real trouble ....... freaking out please help if you can

hello I am new to this forum but have used information on this site as well as others to find my way around my s4. anyway here is the problem I recently rooted my phone and had no problems nothing major anyway. then I downloaded an app from the play store that changed around my home screen and various other things that I did not like. I then proceeded to remove this program thinking that it was touchwiz I tried to look for in the stock location but I could not remove it from there. thinking that this app was a virus or something I removed touchwiz only to find out that I really messed my phone up and now I have no idea where to start. I didn't flash any roms or custom recoveries. what can I do from here any help will be much appreciated. thank you in advance

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Droid_fanatic! :)

Thank you for your post.

There are currently 28 different models of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and over 2,000 different stock Samsung firmware versions, worldwide, covering 5 different Android platforms, Android 4.2.2, Android 4.3, Android 4.4.2, Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4. Not all issues will affect all models or firmware releases and your answers to the following questions will help in the forum's answers to your specific query.

#1 Could you post your Model number and Android version...

To locate these, go to...

Settings > More > About device > Model number and Android version

This will give you the model of Samsung Galaxy S4 that you have and which Android version you are on.

#2. Your current Firmware, (not just Baseband), version .

To locate your current firmware version, go to the stock, Samsung, dial pad and type in...

*#1234#

This will give you your, "Version", details in full, usually 3 lines of information, AP: CP: CSC:, which may all be relevant.

*** If code *#1234# has been disabled on your firmware, you can download and install, free from the Play Store, Phone Info and it will give you, under Firmware Info... PDA, Baseband, CSC, versions.

#3. Also helpful would be your carrier, (service provider), location, (UK, India, Russia, USA, etc: ), and if your phone is rooted or not and running a custom ROM, (give details).

Thanks. The above helps us to help you and hopefully someone will be able to reply to you shortly. :)

(Tip: You can go to the green bar at the top of this forum and click on, "User CP", which will take you to your User Control Panel and then select, "Edit your details", under the heading, "Your profile", on the left hand side. Here you can fill in your model and firmware under, "Current devices", in, "Additional Information". This ensures that your device details are shown under your user name on the left, in every post you make. You can update this as often as you like and will help other users immediately identify your current phone and firmware details.)

ok here it goes I cannot access my home screen or any of the android os. Going on from knowledge of rooting my phone I have the s4 i337m and its on 4.4.2 also it is with the carrier bell mobility in Canada. As for the firmware im not quite sure of that one but im sure if I seen it I could say that it is mine.

I don't supposed you made a nand backup of your stock ROM first thing after you rooted the phone? If so, restore that and you'll be on your way. If not, remember to do so for next time. As you now know, it's very easy to do something you shouldn't on a rooted device.

You may be to the point where you have to you have to restore stock via Odin. I don't have a link to that in front of me, but I suspect you can find directions on the Samsung page, if not some other places on the web. As noted by Ironass above, make sure what you find is applicable to YOUR device.

thanks for all the replies. when I go about flashing the rom what kind of information will I lose. I was able to back up everything that kies 3 would let me but not to sure outside of that what I will lose would anyone know? how safe or idiot proof is this procedure im not totally comfortable with the flashing roms just yet and wanted a little insight on what to expect. thanks guys for all the help really appreciated
