In the middle of rooting, anyone experience this too?

Hi everybody, I'm in the middle of rooting my Sprint HTC Hero (software version .5, not the Sprint fix) and I followed directions specified on the XDA Developers website:
[GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero - xda-developers

On Step 6, it tells me to input adb shell. XDA makes note that it may take up to 40 seconds.

it's been well over 20 minutes now, and still shows the following:

C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb shell
$ _

Anybody experience similar issues? I don't know what to do at this point. :confused:

nvm... I'm officially a n00b for not understanding it's a shell. Everything's good now.

soo... i'm not getting it. I'm at that same spot!!! Do I continue entering the instructed commands or wait til it gives me a new command line?? <<definitely a n00b!

okay. so i got through it. i "remounted" to disable ota updates but it's still stuck in shell. how do i "dismount" or get out of shell? OR is it safe to go ahead & unplug my phone? i have to go to bed! i have work tomorrow x_x

you can unplug your phone during the process, you'll just hafta start over again. it doesn't mess things up though. it is actually really hard to mess your phone up while rooting. if you get a $ sign continue the prompts....when you get a # you're in admin/superuser. it's easy. type and follow. it works. good luck.
