Inc2 or Droid X?

I use it as my MP3 player

I'm a big gamer on my phone

Screen quality>size but a big screen wouldn't hurt either.

I am a heavy Facebook and Twitter user

Big user of the internet.

Can't decide. Thanks.

I don't see a reason to get a phone that's nearly a year old (as the X is) and will probably have far less support from here on out unless you can't afford the Incredible 2. The X2 is also supposed to be right around the corner, which would further contribute to less support, both officially and unofficially, for the X.

Definitely go for the Incredible 2 at this point in the game if you're deciding between those two phones.

I use my Inc1 as my dedicated MP3 player now running SkyRaider4.0... I'm getting the XTC hardware to root my Inc2 within the next few days and will be having alot of fun :)

I would get the Droid X2 if you like the X....4G support is rumored...looks just like the X and its dual core.

Due to the Inc's no internal storage, chipset and Blockbuster bloat, the Droid X 2 would seem a better option. Faster chipset and at least 8gb more internal storage. Probably 16gb. No contest with the Tegra 2 (Droid X2). Games that are slow motion on the 8655 (Inc 2 and TB) are smooth with the Tegra 2.

Added:

The reason I pick on Blockbuster is because the app basically sucks and means that there is no way ever to get the Netflix app (that rocks), unless HTC wants to pay Blockbuster back for the locked down app and then pay Netflix to have the Inc 2 set up and activated for Netflix servers (not happening).

Well I'm recieveing a FREE XTC clip to S-OFF my phone, so byebye blockbuster ;)

the op is asking to help choose between the Inc2 and the DX....not the DX2...

my vote is the Inc2...even though i'm an X owner. I myself am considering getting an Inc2 because i travel globally. Either phone will be a good choice.

Most popular advice here: Wait. Keep waiting. The next upcoming phone will have more core and more geebees. Get the phone with the mostest hardware specs.

How about just going to the store and spending some time with them? I don't understand why people come here to ask "what should I get". 90% of the responses are people justifying what they have or are going to get.

these games dont exist yet (or I havent found them) as I've downloaded every good 3d/HD game available from the market and gameloft and have yet to have ANY lag or lack of smoothness. Games that lag on the EVO/Dinc/nexus one and last generation snapdragon (many graphic intense gameloft games like avatar for instance) play PERFECTLY smooth and lag free on Dinc2/Tbolt. Not that tegra and even current samsung GPU's dont outperform the adreno 205 GPU on the current snapdragon but you imply the adreno 205 doesn't handle current 3D games or lags which is simply false.

But there are some games on the market that are dual-core (or Tegra 2) only though, such as SAMURAI II: VENGEANCE. I would assume, unless there's some sort of exclusivity money being tossed around, this was done because they would be laggy on other processors. Normally games like this won't even come up in a search on a phone/device that doesn't have compatible hardware. The only way to know if they're laggy is to attempt side load them and see. It would seem that perhaps the Adreno 205 might not be able to handle some of the current 3D games properly.

if you keep waiting on the next upcoming phone you will always be waiting. you have to pull the trigger sooner or later. Now im not saying waiting is a bad thing as long as you can set yourself a time or date and get something by that date. Like lets say wait till August cause by then there will be plenty of new phones out....

You may be right but any games (like the one mentioned) that are readily available for iphone that dont work with ANY single core android phone must be intentially ramped up prior to android release (doesn't seem smart from a money making perspective at this point). they should certainly run fine on samsung devices if nothing else if they are capable of running (apple approved) on iphone.

That's my point. I've noticed a lot negative sentiment toward people who didn't buy the phone with the "best" specs and are always given the advice of wait for y as x is already outdated.

Due to the Inc's no internal storage
I've asked around in several forums and with advanced Android Developers and users and none of them said this was an issue. 1GB of internal storage is a crazy huge amount. In fact, it is my understanding that internal (emmc) storage is rarely used whereas SD storage is in much higher demand.

That said, my biggest concern about the Inc2 is that is it old tech. And therefore might not be purchased in volume and might not get the updates/support from HTC, VZW and/or the "ROM community".

I need a Global phone. Unfortunately, with VZW you don't have much of a choice. My family's contract isn't up until Dec, but I need Global phone sometime this June/July. As primary account holder, I can update early, which is how I had planed to get my new phone.

I just might look into how much penalties will cost to move now (or in June) vs paying out the rest of my contact but setting up a new line on ATT just for me in the mean time?!?!
