Help incoming calls not rining long enough to answer

hi, i have a lg optimus c and when the phone rings it doesn't even ring long enough for me to answer any phone calls why???? someone said phone settings someone said *720 someone said call settings ringtone none of them HELP!!!!!!!!! is all my calls being forwarded to voicemail???? i just don't understand
