Help Incoming emails

Hi,

I have a very annoying problem with my emails on the stock email app.

The only way for my emails to appear on my phone is by me pressing refresh, they never automatically appear even though the frequency to check for new emails is set for every 5mins.

Can anyone tell me if it's anything to do with the set up of my account?

Turns out under Accounts, I did not have anything set to sync which is why I had to keep refreshing for my emails to come through.
