Help Incoming "Forwarded call" - can it be identified?

Hi All,

Brief: "Forwarded Call" flashes up briefly, when diverted to my Galaxy, is there a better notification method or App?

I run a UK small electrician business and my landline diverts to my Galaxy S phone. Great! However I need to know if the call was forwarded from my landline so I know if the call is costing me money.

I get a "Call Forwarded" message briefly flash-up on the first ring but as the phone is in my pocket at this point any such message has already vanished by the time I can read it.

Is there a way of keeping this massage/flag on the screen so I know when to keep these diverted calls brief. Maybe even an App.

There's nothing worse than paying for a salesman to call you.

Many thanks in advance,
Alex.:)

Hi again everyone,

I'm still suffering the same problem, which is currently costing me a fortune each month in diverted calls from my home number to my Galaxy.

I have posted a few entries at
Issue 2544 - android - Incoming call display doesn't indicate that a call is forwarded - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting
but to no avail.

All I need to know is if I am paying for a diverted call from my landline, then I will simply keep the call brief.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
A.

i think i may be in similar position to you. i have calls forwarded to my mobile from a voip landline number which is configured as a contact in my sgs, so when i get a forwarded call it says office calling.

Thanks but it the message "forwarded Call" pops up on the screen and vanishes after about a second. By the time I have taken my phone from my pocket the message has vanished, thus telling me nothing.

How silly and frustrating. But more seriously , expensive!!

The forwarded call message shows up for about a second. Ie. Just when you are taking the phone out if your pocket so you always miss the message. I wonder if someone could write a simple app - a bit crude, i know- which:

1) took a screen grab on an incoming call then
2) displayed it on the screen for the call duration
3) the user would know if he/she was paying for an expensive forwarded Cal.

Thanks in advance for any help here.

Hope this reply doesn't come too late.

I was in the exact same situation. I wanted either a distinctive ringtone for forwarded calls, or some way to identify business calls from personal calls, forward the calls, and get rid of the second cell phone.

Here is the app. You can try the free app to make sure it works on your phone. The free app just pops the message up for a second or two. The paid app leaves it up, until you either answer the phone or it rolls to voicemail.
