Root inconsistent 3G and signal dropping after flashing

I flashed back to the stock ZV5 ROM and custom over clocked kernel, and also flashed the ZV5 radio/modem, and I'm having inconsistent 3G/4G signal. It randomly drops out a lot and I lose service for about 10-15 seconds before I get signal again. I remember seeing another person on here having the same problem, and I was wondering if there is any fix for it?

I've posted a lot on here, and I want to take the time to thank you all for all the help since you all take the time out to help me.

Thanks again!

I got it working. The only way I could get it to work was to flash the zv5 rooted rom posted here

then boot it up, and if still no lte, then reboot and flash the apn fix posted here. I think you have to have virgin mobile to use this one. There should be one for other carriers as well.

I couldn't get it to work with flashing both at the same time, I had to flash the zv5 rom, then reboot and let it setup the initial time, then reboot and flash the apn fix. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll post another way to try. Also I DID NOT flash the zv5 radio.

Okay thanks I'll try that. Question: if it shows an IP Address under 4G Properties, but it's currently connected to 3G, does that mean 4G is working but not in range of a 4G tower?

I personally think it's a config problem. I believe there is a config issue with the apn file, but again that's just my opinion. I know on mine it never said lte under network and it wasn't until I flashed the apn fix that it changed my apn list from 6 entries down to 2, and one of them was an lte listing, whereas before there was no specific lte listing. Also under network it now shows lte instead of the other one I think it was ehrpd or something like that.

Are you on stock or a different ROM? I did what you listed earlier, I no linger have signal drops on CDMA mode, but once I put it in LTE/CDMA mode it constantly drops signal.

Man I wish LTE would just work. I would think after flashing the stock ROM it would fix the issue. Would an APN editor help any?

I'm on stock now. Flash cm12, then boot it up. See if you have internet. If not then reboot it and flash the apn fix. I can't remember where it's at but you need to find the apn list, there should only be 2. If there's more then that, then wipe the phone to defaults and reboot it and flash the apn again. You should be able to see only 2 at that point. You will open each of them and set the port and proxy from null to 0. That's a zero. Then find the mmsc url and remove the part after the ? so it should read

http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?

Click the dots at the top corner and save it. Do the same thing on the other one. It should after a few seconds give you lte. If it doesn't then flash gapps, and try it again. You will have to d/l the version for whatever version of cm12 you are running.

If it does work, then reboot it and flash the stock rom, then reboot it and let it load, then reboot it and flash the apn. Reboot it, and it should give you lte. It should check for new prl, if it doesn't do it if the lte isn't showing up.
