Last night while using my phone I noticed a site load in seconds with the signal showing as gprs. Then using the speedtest app got a speed of 488kbps down and 256 up while still showing the g icon and gprs in about phone>status. I have noticed this a few times in places where I usually get a reasonable 3g signal it shows as gprs but seems to load sites the same speeds. I have also seen in the last few days that plugging in or removing the headphones starts various music apps.
