Increase volume?

is ther a way to increase the default max. volume?
i travel on the trains and i can hardly hear the video i'm watching.
on the s2 there was a service menu where it was possible to increase the default max.

There's an app on the market called Volume+ and the free version allows you to up the volume a little. The paid version allows even more.

I found the free version enough for me in a noisy workshop with headphones in.

I used v+ on my desire and it worked well. As an international rooted user I'm lucky to have the use of a custom kernel which makes all sorts if audio improvements.
