Incredible may be out of date before release

The rumor is that the N1 will be receiving 2.2 in the near future.

Go over to the N1 forum or someone link it (my GF is yelling at me for being on the site again)

With the incredible having sense, it might be more difficult to get the update and we might be left waiting.

Root my friend, root.. A solution to everything is through root access! We will have everything that way. And since it's an HTC device we will have XDA and their AMAZINGLY AMAZING developers!

btw, I'm not an incredible hater. I'm just trying to make my decision and want to hear other people's opinion.

Andrew, how fast is your droid at 1.25. How much slower than incredible do you think it will be?

Well before you make a decision based on the software, I'd take a look at the hardware. If Google doesn't make some serious fixes on the N1 before releasing it on Verizon it won't hold a candle to the Incredible.

Just look up all the issues ppl have had with the N1. It appears that the Incredible is the N1 but with almost all those issues resolved, SenseUI and a nicer camera. Obviously I'm oversimplifying a bit, but in my opinion the hardware matters more than the software in this case.

Besides the hardware comparison, you should also remember that Froyo is being touted as the fragmentation fixer. In other words, it's supposed to be rolled out to almost ALL Android phones pretty quickly so there aren't all the different versions of Android still lurking around.

One more thing to consider: what will Froyo really bring to the table? Will it be so drastically different than what 2.1 has? My guess is there won't be thaaat much of a difference.... that's just me though.

nexus 1 can have 3.0 for all I care, still cant beat the Incredible in speed, and if you ever owned a blackberry with a trackball...how long will that last for you before crapping out? lol

/pets my incredible

IMO. I do's not mater because in 6 mouths they will probable launch something new like duel core 4G phone. I need out of my junk blackberry storm now, and for right now it

Very good point. Although I heard that it was going to be a combination of Froyo and the next releas (Gingerbread?) that was going to help the fragmentation. But I do not have much confidence it will be easily fixed.

In regards to both of your posts... (sorry for the long post It's interesting I PROMISE!!)

NO YOU DO NOT lose sense when you root your phone, they just port 2.x (froyo) over and sense is still there. So when we root our incredible's, it still will be there.

And the Droid is fast at 1.25, but it only is clocks up to 1.25 when it is needed. It runs at 550 mainly or in between that and 1.25. So the incredible will blow it away in performance because it CONSTANTLY runs on 1 Ghz. Where as if the Droid constanly ran at 1 Ghz I'd run out of battery by 6 hours lol.. if not sooner.

The browser speed at 1.25 is probably the fastest out, maybe the incredible will beat it. That should be a fun test when they are both maxed. I honestly do not know which will be faster in that area. I will for sure be testing them once I get it. I want to know too.. But I think in overall performance, the Incredible will blow it away, even with it overclocked because it runs at a constant 1 Ghz and because it is a snapdragon processor, which is a newer chip with better technology.

Plus, the overclocking on it should be in the same range of 1.1 - 1.3 if not higher! I know the Nexus One can only get to 1.1, but the chip is a later version:

Nexus one: Qualcomm QSD 8250 1 GHz
Incredible: Qualcomm

Thats what I meant, I was just more worried about typing the whole second half of that post.

A dual core 45nm 1.5ghz mobile chip? Can you say pocket netbook? I mean, the 1ghz incredible is going to be badass, but it won't be long before we are running more complete OSes on phones. Thats just cool. One day I am going to walk into my house, my tv is going to sync with my phone, as well as my wireless keyboard and mouse, and I will never need another physical computer other than that.

Sorry. Im getting excited and all. Future. Nerd. What can I say.

You should wait until the N1 comes out.
Then you might as well until the Evo comes out.
Then you might as well wait until the Samsung phone comes out.
Then you might as well wait until the Droid 2 comes out.
Then you might as well wait until the LTE phones come out.
Then you might as well wait until the iPhone on Verizon comes out.
Then you might as well wait until they implant holographs in your head.

SO YOU'LL NEVER BUY A PHONE.

Or just get the current best smartphone on America's best network right now and be happy.

Chill homie. Notice I already ordered my incredible (in fact at 1058cst on 4/18). Doesnt mean I cant be happy about the future of computing?

Yeah that will be sweet as hell! I cannot wait till the future! But how long do you think it'll be till 1.5Ghz chips are released?

The fact that its already been developed by qualcomm, and its chipset is probably the same or very similar to the current run of single cores, within a year or two. Perfect time for my next NE2.

There will always be better phones in the future and AT&T will sit on most of them rather than release them.

Android 2.2 is supposed to end fragmentation, so it might be that it is in date. They are thinking of putting all of the improvements in the market rather than in the ROM so that you can just download the update. It's genius, actually.

every electronic device is out of date when it comes out. you can't keep waiting for the newest thing cause you'll never have anything! The Incredible is out, and is real. 2.2 is not..yet.
