Help Incredible questions

Tried searching for this answer and came up blank, therefore gunna ask you all. Is there a way to tether the Incredible to work with the PS3 for the internet? I think it works for the xbox, but was wondering about the PS3.

Also, I want to root my phone, but was wondering if I do, will I still be able to get the supposedly upcoming updates that are suppose to be released around Aug. 12th...?

If you root you will not get the update. I would wait if you are doing the 2.2 Rom. With the ps3 you can but you will need to root so you can us the phone as a hot spot. Or wait for the update. If you have a pc you can tether your phone via use cable and use a crossover cable and connect it to your ps3 and bridge the network connections. Search Google there are guides.
