I have an Incredible and I was having problems so Verizon did a factory reset. They loaded my contacts after the reset. Now before the reset, all of my contacts were sync'd with Facebook. All I did was menu-settings-accounts & sync- facebook for HTC sense. Slowly, the contacts in my People list that had FB accounts linked and their profile pics showed up in my list. Now when I do the same thing, my none of my contacts will link other than my own contact card. I tried to link individual contacts one at a time and that will not work. I removed the FB for HTC Sense then logged back on and that didn't work. I took it by Verizon and they couldn't get it to sync. Then they told me if they did get it to sync that it would pull all of my FB friends into my People List. I know it is possible to link only the people in my People list and not pull in all of my FB friends. Any ideas on what to do?

I think you were on the right track by removing Facebook's app and starting over, but it's always a good idea to first clear cache and data on all contact syncing apps/widgets ("social widgets") one at a time, then uninstall every one of them (that can be uninstalled), and reinstall them.
It's a bit of a hassle, but usually remedies these types of issues following a factory data reset.
