Individual Ring Tones for Text Messages?

Is there a way to assign individual ring tones for text messages to individual contacts?

When I assign a ringtone to a contact, this if for incoming calls only. I would like to do the same for text messages too.

Can anyone out there help?

try the app "gosms" i use it and it is pretty good

chompsms and handcent work well also
