ah.. rooting. Android.. Google. MetroPCS, i had this thought in my head about MetroPCS now tracking rooted devices and how they will charge the full price of the device to the customers bill when the device is brought back "upstairs" for refurbishing and super user is found on the device and then i remembered something.

anybody ever heard of MetroFLASH?

lol i'm not saying anybody is wrong here but i mean.. is Metro really "one to talk"?

i know both Rooting and MetroFLASH aren't actually of the same soup bowl but i'm just saying.. i could take the Samsung Omnia from Verizon Wireless and other similar devices and bring to a cooperate store in a state where MetroFLASH is permitted and well.. FORCE it to work for MetroPCS putting them in control of the device just as Rooting puts the user in control of they're device.. so..... yeah.... just some food for thought for a company that should remember the "sneakish" little things they did to appeal to consumers over time. they weren't nicknamed Ghetro-PCS for no reason ya know.

still voids the manufacturer warranty.

But they are not going to just come back and charge you. If metro takes the phone an replaces it under manufacturer warranty for you, then samsung says hey, this one has been tampered with and warranty is void. The loss is on the store that took back the phone.

This is why they would warn employee's to watch for this. If an employee replaces a phone that cant be fixed under warranty, the store just lost the cost of the phone they gave you because they wont be reimbursed for it.

same goes for retail stores like best buy.

i agree then best bet would be if u cant un-root the phone with the new updated root script for any reason i would just report it lost or stolen.

thats if you added the insurance, and you still pay the $80 deductable

I think that for 4$ a month you gotta be stupid notto put insurance on a smartphone. And I would rather pay 80$ then the full price of a new phone. If you report it lost or stolen you still have to pay an insurance deductible

insurance is also going to be $5 dollars a month now... if you have the current $4 dollar insurance bolt-on feature, you'll be grandfathered in.

the deductible is going up next month. gonna be over $100. Got something in the mail last week about it but I cant find it right now to give you the exact price.

Do you mean they are going to rise it to $100 that would make sense. but make it $100 plus this is stupid. No other carrier as there deducible more then $100 and trust me when i tell that this phone is not better quality then the Evo or Epic.

i'll try and find the letter tomorrow. it is rising above $100. I remember bitching to my fiance about it. I believe the code, which was 85 when i got it, is going down. the craft around 100 and the indulge more then the craft. dont hold me to this til i find the paper tho

he said it would be over $100.

I would really like to know the reason behind this increase but we will never know. They dont say jack about anything. I would hate to think that its because of the number of returns this one phone has had.

I know i just got a thing in saying its going to be $130

I think it's because of the fraud these guys do on phone clams . I was just hoping it stay at $85 for the ones that was on that Deduct Already and have not made any clams but scew the customers. Even at $130 for a $400 phone is not bad on the long run.

screw the insurance claim fraud i swear i hope verizon does go nationwide on no contract $50 a month on all phones i gurantee u metro will bring back all prices down this pisses me off i aint paying no damn $130 thats the price of a new phone screw that!! whoever is in charge of the price changes is a jackass thats only gonna make former metro pcs customers look elsewhere!

Yeah the new rates are $5 bucks a month and then the deduct is $130. Thats still better then Sprint. They want 7 bucks a month and then $200 on their smart phones.

Rates really are not up to them to judge. Its kind of like car insurance companies. They have to raise rates to keep up with claims made. Kind of sucks for those of us who might use it once every 4 years or so.

This is the internal debate I'm having..Should I root my phone or not? i do have insurance(just to let you guys know) I know if you root your indulge you can do a lot specially the Hot spot feature.thats the main thing i want....but don't want to end up paying out of the wazoo if something happens to this phone.

Another question, if I unroot (say something happens to the phone) then bring it into the store unrooted and with all the bloatware back on the phone will they be able to tell that it was ever rooted or will they just fix it for me like I never rooted?

they wont be able to tell and they will fix it like it never happened.
