Indulge vs Motorola Triumph

If I find out virgin Mobile has good service where I live and the price really isn't ridiculous. I'll say goodbye to Metro in a heartbeat. I've already had enough with my 300 phone that only stays charged for an hour and a half if you decide to play a game on it. Unacceptable.

you are correct Imwillzilla mind you when i first got it i loved it then came summer and my phone went nuts :(

I would love to see the Indulge used somehow in that show on the Discovery channel called DUAL SURVIVOR with Cody Lundin and Dave Canterbury..

Picture this..... Out in the wintery mountains of Montana temperatures rarely exceed 50 degrees during the day and below 35 degrees at night.

Dave says to Cody, " It is imperative that we are able to start a fire to keep up our bodies core temperatures throughout the night ."

Cody replies, " Dave, what did they leave us to work with ? "

Dave says, " A Samsung Indulge smartphone with 1/4 the charge in the battery and some steel wool . "

Towards dusk Dave and Cody settle in to make a fire. They gather the wood and kindling needed to get the fire going.

Dave says to Cody " Now all we have to do is take the steel wool and touch it to the metal contacts on the bottom of the battery and it should generate spark ."

Dave tries furiously to get a spark from the battery but nothing, he puts the battery back in the phone and tries to power it on......Dead.

Cody and Dave freeze to death lol

I know it's corny... but I had to!

Hey at lest we kept it close to the original argument....indulge=super poor battery life. Then again i can also laugh at Thunderball user too(not many bought it after they found out how bad the battery life was) Also I know im going to get some hate for saying this. The verizon iphone is pwning the thunderball. Im an apple fan but do wish that all Cellphones would have a good battery like the iphone.

Its called a ThunderBOLT. Not ThunderBALL. Sorry, pet peeve.:p

I do wish the battery lasted a helluva lot longer than it does but I simply dont see that happening as long as Metro has all this background BS continuously trying to turn on,even after you close it with task manager. I installed a different launcher(go launcher, I believe it was) the other day to switch the look of things up & it had its own easy to acceas task manager within the menu where you could lock certain items so they will stay open when you use its awesome 1 button to close running programs you are not using anymore such as: metro mail, metro ez wifi, location maps, and whatever else. However, even though I would close those I mentioned & everything else it showed as running, I could look at it 5-10 minutes later & what do you know everything & MORE would be running even though I wasn't using wi-fi or maps.
Rather it was merely within my pocket doing nothing except keeping my leg warm, thank you 4G auto-heat feature. /sarcasm.

That's why you root your phone and get rid of that Metro bloatware!!

Also... the program maybe running in the background, but not using any CPU or processes. THAT ... is what you need to be concerned about.

Some things need to be running, things collecting your data feeds and such.

just fyi, the new version of moto blur looks liek stock just still has their shit all in it. the htc g2 for tmobile is a "stock" android phone... yet it still has htc's crap loaded in there meaning you cant just stick aosp on it, needs to be coded properly which is still a big hassle over phones like the nexus which use aosp.

the triumph will be a nice phone, of that im sure... but its a moto phone.. i wouldnt wipe my @$$ with it

you want further proof of this? look at all of tmobile/att's moto android phones random low end peices of crap in fact the only carrier with halfway decent moto phones anymore is verizon. sprint is getting a moto android phone sometime this summer, yes their very first moto android phone.. there is a reason why samsung and htc are the top dogs in the android market.

Well July is right around the corner now lets see what Virgin plans to do with the Triumph from all the rumor mills all i keep hearing is 300 dollars(hope is true) also need to see a hands on from phonedog then i will decide stay with Metro or go with Virgin

guys is stock android no blur. LTE not working vs working 3G. I said samsung is making us look bad.

This one was very well put. I know virgin uses the same network as Boost. So i do perfer a slower 3g which always works VS 4G that some times work or 2G (1X).

I hope Metro is paying attention to the release of that phone on Virgin. I bet they are..... and had to run and change their underwear.

Stock android OS, 5 Mp camera w flash, 4 inch screen and very cheap plans... I am definitely thinking about saying BUH BYE Metro.

I know it's only 3G on the Triumph, but what good is LTE when you don't even get the signal all the time or when you do....your battery is dead lol!!!

That is so true by the time you get 4g battery is gone. I really dont know how people that don't have access to car/wall charge have this phone.

What Metro needs to do is lower the LTE prices
60 everything to 50, and their 50 to 40, force samsung to address the battery, overheating and updates and then the Triumph would lose its streak but if they don't address any of this issues then see a jump to Virgin mobile. Heck even I would jump if they priced it on par with the current indulge price

Lowering there price wont help in my opinion. what they need is to get there phones in line. and understand that the poor people can afford expensive phones.

The sad part is that they had the info from the thunderball and yet never bother to check the data.

Just so you know all LTE phone battery suck. The tech is not there yet. Verizon and Metro just rushed it out.

When i saw this phone i'm ready to jump on it. I will sit on the side lines until it is rooted as i need to be able to wifi tether. but i think as soon as this comes out i will be hawking over it with any news. I really hope ones this comes out the metro announce something or else i will be taking off lol.

I think metro as not announce anything because they are taking lots of presure from this phone. hope they get there shit together or else I'm out.

Thats what irks me about Metro. They have pretty good 4G when it works but they should beef up their 3G service as well so we wouldn't have to suffer this much.

That is so true by the time you get 4g battery is gone. I really dont know how people that don't have access to car/wall charge have this phone.

is simple if you don't have those two option then you go for choice number 3= **583385## thats the only way to stop the 4G radio and just live on the 1XT and saving your battery

well i agree with then getting their phone line in order but I was refering to us their current customer, how to keep us from jumping to other carriers.

you are correct and they should had waited and fix 3G and make it work like it should.

They know that the indulge is in serious trouble they should had release this phone before the summer since is causing it a lot of issues with the heat. When i got the phone it was mid spring so the weather was ok not too hot and humid and the phone was doing great. As soon as the early part of the summer roll in kaablam the damn battery went nuts and started messing with the phone. Got it switched and is been acting less dumb since then switch.

What they need to do is release Gingerbread for it already because it has a LOT of fixes for faster phones including better process management, which will definitely increase battery life, & everyone knows the Indulge needs that more than anything.

The very least they could do is release Froyo 2.2.2 to clean up the email bug that 2.2.1(current version) has. I looked up the key differences between FroYo & GB the other day & truly feel that it will make a LOT of difference for this phone.

Honeycomb isn't really an option at this point seeing as it's primary market is tablets(really large screens). But there could be a version made for standard mobiles because even Honeycomb is better than GB in some ways.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but it had splintered & this is pertinent.

no no no this is on topic Cliffton. We need samsung and metro to upgrade every phone to 2.2.2 and fix the issues with 4G . So your comment is very valid.

its been over 90 and very humid for a while round me, havent noticed the phone act any different at all. EVDO should be rolling out within 2 weeks so im looking forward to that. I hate the 1x but I only turn on 4g when I know i have coverage and i actually need it.

Same here confed but i work and live in the city and this building don't help improve the humidity and heat and today i was sitting inside the office we are building and left my phone on the work table. After 3 hours my battery went from full to 20 percent

The new motoblur looks nothing like stock. I don't know where you're seeing otherwise. Look at the Droid X on Gingerbread, the Droid X2, the Atrix, etc... all run the new motoblur and it's nothing like stock. The newest version of blur that will be on the Droid 3 and Bionic (potentially) is even more of an upgrade from those - and again, looks nothing like stock. Just b/c there are a few pre-loaded Virgin (or any other carrier) apps does not mean there is an entire UI on the phone.

And last I checked, the Atrix is one of the top Android phones available right now, and it's on AT&T. And the Photon coming out on Sprint is not a cheap POS by any means.

the atrix being one of the top phones on att isnt saying much.. thats like saying the indulge is one of the best phones on metro. the atrix isnt a horrible phone by any means. for a dual core SOC that was put out by a company that is known for their graphics cards its just saddening to see it lose to my nexus s 4g in benchmarks (the phone that everyone claimed was bullshit and under powered to be considered a true nexus). with the release of the evo3d and the samsung epic 2, and the sprint within no one is gunna notice the photon

Well we can't say its motoblur we will see that once the phone gets release

good points about the phones... and don't even get me started on Motorola's pentile display on the Atrix and X2 (and likely D3 and Bionic)

regardless, I guarantee you the Triumph will have no Motoblur on it - just a few preinstalled VM apps and that'll likely be it

well we can certainly hope for the best eh? :D

i know sprint is moving forward with bloat, allowing you to be able to remove them
