I have a Viber factoty installed version and want it off my phone. How/Can I get rid of it???

My phone went into an infinite loop when I disabled Viber and I thought it was bricked for good.

I apologize for being verbose, but I want to include as much detail as possible for anyone having similar problems and also hope for critique to ascertain exactly which factors helped in the recovery. And finally, how to get of this ******* thing off my phone.

I have Viber factory version on my phone. I did update the app via Google but decided it just was not an app I wanted or needed. So I decided to get rid of it. I uninstalled the update. But I found that there was no uninstall of the factory version and it still showed as running. So I decided to disable it. I had no ill effects at that time. But the next morning when I unlocked the screen the phone seemed to be stuck and I rebooted it. That is when the trouble started. I the first time I eas able to enter my lock code but then immediately got the message

Hi

That sounds like you had fun!

You cant remove a factory installed app unless you have root access. It seems like the boot sequence for your phone needs viber installed so I guess that rooting the phone and removing viber may still cause you problems unless you install a custom rom & bootloader. (Not worth it just for this reason)

One thought, did you "deactivate account" in viber before disabling it? (If you ever had an account of course)

With regard to the wifi off issue, I strongly suggest that everyone installs an app such as androidlost (free on playstore) which does many things but importantly, allows you to activate the wifi and mobile data on your phone by sending it an sms text message.(you are stuck if its in airplane mode!) If you ever forget your password and your wifi is off you will need to do this to avoid having to do a hard reset.
