Help Infuse won't connect to Kies or be recognized when I try to root/unlock:

Infuse won't connect to Kies or be recognized when I try to root/unlock, however if I turn off debugging mode and set the phone to mass storage, Windows will recognize it and it will allow me to drag/drop music or files.

I downloaded drivers off the Samsung website, mini Kies and regular Kies all at the same time, and trying each individually, but still won't be recognized when I try to root, unlock or connect (on Kies).

I also reformatted and hard reset the phone plenty of times, though I noticed when I connect via USB, the phone won't say in the notifications tray, "USB Connected, Debugging Mode." It will just say, "USB Connected" even though I checked on debugging mode.

Running GingerBread 2.3.6 and I want to root the phone, please help!

I found my answer.

How to "Root" the Samsung Infuse 4G

This is very simple If this does not work you can get Root by installing a Kernel that has been Pre-Rooted. Will not work on new 2.3.6 Gingerbread update, Works on 2.3.5 and under.
1) Download SuperOneClick
2) Open SuperOneClick, Run as Administrator if needed.
3) On phone go to Setting > Application > Developement > Check USB debugging.
4) Connect phone to PC
5) On SuperOneClick make sure the "Exploit" is set to Auto, Then click root.
6) SuperOneClick should then root your device.

I am still having the connectivity issue! My Infuse will only be recognized as Mass Storage. Please help!
I actually had the same issue and it turned out I needed to switch usb ports, another thing is you may be in debug mode. And you can get rid of all the kies besides mini, mini seems to be the only way mine worked also.
