Help Initial charge, HTC One X....HELP

Waited for months for this phone....finally got it today but before I opened the mailing box it came in, I heard it turn on so I rushed to get it open to turn it off knowing it needs to be charged before turning on and in thinking to hold down button, I restarted it 3 times before I figured out how to turn it off. It is off now but seeing as tho I can't replace the battery, have I messed up the initial charge that needs to be done before use? Very frustrated that it turned itself on in the first place being a stickler for taking care of the battery. Phone was in the box screen side down which is how it turned on, the button hit the top of the box I guess. I know AT&T ALWAYS sends back refurbished phones no matter how new when u send them back which I def do not want....I don't know much about the battery in the ONE X, so...am I ok or should I go into a store and try to get a new phone so I can charge it properly before first turn on?

This turning on before the first charge didn't harm your One X's battery :)

Charge it and when the LED goes green enjoy your new phone.

No the battery will be fine, it makes no odds charge or no charge with present battery technology. The recommended charge period is more likely to ensure that once the user first activates the phone they have plenty of juice for all the downloads/updates, as the phone shutting down in the middle of installing etc will be more problematic.

Personally I opened the box, used the phone till, the battery warning, and then charged it, effect on battery life; nothing I am getting average stats and increasing as the cycle count is still low.

I always let the battery run down before i charge it for the first time, then i put it on charge over night.
I let the phone run down again before putting it on charge over night a second time.

I have done this with my past 6 phones & all of them end up giving very good battery life.
I still have an old motorola razr v3i that still gives 10 days battery life.

thx guys, while I agree that the batt may be fine, I hate the idea that the phone for days on the truck has been getting turned on by hitting the inside of the box then dying and getting turned back on over and over til it got here orrrrr maybe it's just the fact that I'm a bit of a control freak lol either way tho, I'm gonna take it in to the store and try...after waiting so long, I want a "brand new" phone. But now I have more info on what to do for the initial charge, so thx :)

Seriously dont worry about it, nothing detrimental has happened to your phones battery, your phone is new best plan is to start enjoying it. Just check your phone out if it has no issue dont worry, if you want to exchange you may well end up with a refurb or a phone that actually does have a defect.

The impact on your batteries life is zero...

I ended up going into the store but keeping my phone after hearing my options....
I let phone charge off for a little over 8 hrs as it was about dead anyways, got 22 hrs off first charge then charged over night after the batt warning so I'm happy.
