Help Inspire 4G APN Settings

I also just purchased a HTC Inspire off of ebay as my first smartphone. Set it up on Straight talk. Works great but would like to activate wifi hotspot. Does anyone have the APN settings to use with Straight talk to use this feature? Still running Android 2.2.1. Should I leave it at that and not upgrade to Gingerbread? This phone is supposedly rooted but I don't know much about that yet.

OMG! I can't thank you enough for your post, 2manyPHONES. I just transferred an Inspire from ATT to Straight Talk. ATT gave me the unlock code but after unlocking, the APN settings were still locked. I've spent 4 days and countless hrs on the phone with ATT, HTC, and Straight Talk and no one ever mentioned that I could simply ADD an APN setting! Since it wasn't a visible option without opening the menu, I didn't know it was an option. ATT told me I would NEVER be able to use the internet on my phone even tho the sim was unlocked. After reading your post, I added the new apn info that Straight Talk gave me, called them to have them update their system and everything works fine. I'm ecstatic to say the least!

Hello, i just purchased a simple mobile htc inspire, but i was wondering how to set up the internet ans mms. i have already looked on their website. Thanks in Advance
 
Hi 2ManyPHONES I am just having an issue with after putting the Straight Talk sim card in the phone and going to Settings>Wireless/networks>Mobile Networks where I should be able to edit the APN settings it is not locked but it is greyd out to where I cant click to access it. I was wondering what this means? have I done something wrong? thanks for all the help its much appreciated!!!!
