My phone shows that I have good signal strength for a 3G/4G connection.
It also shows an available wifi hotspot.
The hotspot is a public, unsecured "open" hotspot. However, once connected you must provide a valid email address to an "authentication
web page." This authentication times out quickly when it is not in active use. As a result, it is an operational pain for intermittent data use of the
wifi connection.
My Inspire seems to prefer the wifi link over 3G/4G to the point that I cannot use data at all. Yes, there is an available open wifi, but I'm not connected there. How do I get a data connection in this location?
Browser reports "no data connection"
MyAT&T reports "service not available"
Market reports "can't do that"
