Help Instagram can't be installed!! (Error code -504) Help!!

So, I have a ZTE, and I was trying to update instagram the other day but it kept giving me this message, so I uninstalled it thinking if I were to just reinstall it I'd have the updated version, but now I can't even get the app. When I try to download it from the store on chrome, it says I already have it installed, but I don't. I already did the 12 steps google suggests, they didn't work at all, I even talked to someone from google and they were no help, the only thing they were suggesting was a factory reset, which I may have to end up doing but that's my last option which is why I came here. I have enough storage, and can get any other app no problem. Please help!!!

I guess it's because the ZTE phone system can't be compatible with the newest version of Instagram. It may have nothing to do with phone storage.

I don't know what you have already tried, but I would first enable airplane mode, wait at least 2 minutes, disable airplane mode and then try to the download. Googling seems to suggest it is a gateway error (on the internet path between you and google) which may be avoided by forcing a new connection.

Get it from the play store app instead of getting it off chrome?
