Instagram just went live

Fyi- for those who can't find it at the play store app, you can install it through your browser.

Anyone having problems with it? I can't even get it to open, constant white screen and instant force close, even after uninstall/reinstall/reboot combinations :/

No issues on the bionic or dinc2....yet.

This is totally my opinion...

I'm not a social network kinda guy or an artsy person either. I downloaded this app to at least have some kind of internet social interaction with my friends. :p I think it's cool but I was sorta expecting more filters. My apple friends made me think it had a lot of picture editing capabilities but I find it to be false. I think using pixlr-o-matic with Instagram is a better way to go so the pics you upload doesn't look like everyone elses.

What do you guys think? I'm assuming the Apple version of this app is similar. Is that true or do they have more filters and editing options?

If you can't download the app, why not switch your camera to VGA resolution, put some clingfilm in front of the sensor and then take a picture of a coffee cup at an odd angle. Hey presto - Instagram photos without any of the fuss.

;)

Lol. I don't even think my phone has an option for VGA resolution, I might have to bust out my old OG Razr flip phone take a picture with that then take the image from that phone transfer to my phone....dang that's a chore!

:p

Ah, okay then. If you can't make your camera take really awful photos then you'll have no choice but to download Instagram. :D

Jon...it's art...it's art...it's art.

:p That's my dramatic fading echo through text. That is also art, btw. :D

So, I hear iPhone users are actually mad that we have Instagram now. And are actually tweeting stuff like "If you have an Android, don't follow me on Instagram" What a bunch of uptight losers.

Lol, don't lump all iPhone users in that category. :) Most of the iPhone users that I know are saying, "Finally! Now I have more people that can follow me." :p

I downloaded it to my phone. I was expecting more filters but the one's it comes with are pretty nice anyway. It is quite funny how some iPhone users are working themselves into an absolute frenzy about Android getting Instagram. Did it really give their life some kind of meaning by being able to feel smug about their phone apps?? My phone is ready for an upgrade and I very nearly went for an iPhone. That was until I had to visit the apple shop in Covent Garden with my sister (her iphone broke) and saw all these smug, jumped up twunts wandering around in a t-shirt that says 'genius'

So I've just upgraded to a Galaxy S2 this morning :D

I have the same sentiment that Instagram is worthless, and step backwards. I'm baffled this app. People bitch about the latest phone not being at least 8MP, presumably because they want the better camera. Then they use an app that applies a "filter" that alters and degrades the photo, and somehow it's the most popular camera app??

And I feel that iPhone user's reactions to Instagram's available on Android only reinforces that those fanboys are the source of hatred among the smartphone debates.

iPhone Users Are Disgusted By New Android Users Signing Up For Instagram [Humor]

I mainly downloaded Instagram for the social aspect. Camera360 is a much cooler camera app. I take pics with it first, then push them thru Instagram.

Side note - it is absolutely HILARIOUS that iFan-bois are all up in arms like we just gate crashed their invite only party LOL

So I'm a bit confused. I had a photo that was 60 kb, and it says it's too small. So I upload a regular photo, and it asks me every single time to crop it, ultimately cutting off half the photo. Why? And is there a way to change it? I don't think Apple users need to do this.

Anyone else having trouble with push notifications? I can't seem to get them to turn on. They are just listed as "off" when I tap to change to "on" nothing happens....

Make sure your app is up to date. It should be version 1.03. I had issues accessing the push notification options too but after I updated I was able to change them.

I don't know what's more annoying: The iKids whining about Instagram for Android or Android users whining about how crappy the app is.

It isn't bloatware that was forced on your phone. If you don't like the idea or function of the app, don't download it. Your [unwanted] opinion of the app is not going to deter anyone who wants to use it and finds it enjoyable. If you were using Lightbox or something else beforehand and find it to be better, then continue using that. I don't see why anyone thinks they have the power to tell someone else what to do with their personal device.

It gets old. That's like me trying to run around and convince every iKid that Android is better. When it comes down to it, people will use what they want to use no matter what you say, so leave it alone.

With that said, I am enjoying the Instagram experience and community. I've waited a long time for this and I'm thrilled that we finally have it.
