Root Install Android 2.0 on Nexus One?

I have a rooted Nexus One and was wondering if it will support installing Android 2.0.1?

I have a specific app that uses 2.0.1 and we want to make sure it will sure it will run on a Nexus with 2.0 before updating it to 2.1. It does not run on the Nexus with 2.1.

There's no reason it WOULDNT support it, with some tweaking. .. but with 2.2 being released soon and many devices being rooted to run 2.1, it'd be easier and smarter marketing to write it for 2.1/2.2, wouldn't it?
