I have a Star n9770 MTK6577 phone (Chinese knock off) that suddenly ceased booting.
I can get into the recovery and do all the normal stuff in there.
The phone has NOT been rooted,just as it came out of the box.
I am wondering if someone with more knowledge than me can help me in deciding which rom, or whatever it's called, I need to try and install from an sd card. I know nothing of what was on the phone before this problem occurred (computers are more my thing) I have read quite a few forum posts and help pages and downloaded what I was told was the correct "image" for my phone but every time the install begins and runs for around ten seconds then stops with "installation aborted". I really hope someone will know the correct files for me to obtain to try and get this phone working again. The phone is out of warranty so me playing with it is ok if it goes wrong and bricks it as I now have another phone. Also I cannot get windows to recognise the phone is connected to my pc even after trying countless usb drivers. Other than assistance from someone more in the know than I am I'm stuck !
