Root Install the .211 ICS leak AND keep ability to fastboot back to GB

I'm a crackflasher so I'll be trying this as soon as everything downloads. I'm just not one to flash the latest and greatest when I'll be getting off the upgrade path (saw the headache that caused people with the X).

Need some help,

Completed steps 1-4
Now im stuck because safestrap 2.0 apk installs, but then says safestrap has stopped, press ok.

Wont let me installs safestrap. Any help is needed.

Edit: i believe that i lost root, ota root keeper is not restoring root priveledges.

Now how do i root 4.0.3?

Just making sure... you've flashed back to stock, rerooted, installed first leak (not .211) and ran unstickICS, right?
 
I downloaded the unstick apk. Do i extract it onto my sd card, or is it a pc program?

To answer your question, no i didnt do the unstick step 5.

I did everything else step by step. Currently on .79
 
To reroot you should have protected root with OTA rootkeeper before using ES Manager.

You should be able to restore root with Matt's 1.6 Utility.


UnstickICS is a PC program that you'll need to run while in fastboot mode.


You'll need to have root to install Safestrap's recovery.

Lol. My girl gets off work in 15 mins, and ive done nothing since getting off work. Now my pc cache cleaner is taking its time just to make it hurt for me. Ill be getting yelled at also soon.

Anyother way to root 4.0.3? Matts utility is not working either. Wtf. Cache cleaner finished let me check.
 
TBH, I'm not sure. I'd probably fastboot back to .181 and be sure to carry it across. Just be sure to protect and hide root with OTA rootkeeper between each step. You'll have to have it active for the first ICS update (it'll remove it) but you'll just restore it once it boots up.

Wife wants to go out to dinner... if needed we can always meet up somewhere to go over it if you need to (also in FM).
 
Don't forget to check for the updated SU before using voodoo, I forgot once and got partial root, had to start over at that point

Um i think im at that point right now. I cant restore root, but i have a su icon but none of my need root apps will work. So i have to start over. Will matts utility fastboot me back to. 173 from. 79 ics?
