Help Installation Error???

Sup guys..

My DX has been working flawlessly since I got it~ But about 2 weeks ago when I either try and install updates... or just install a new app I get a message that reads installation error, unknown reason 18? WTF?

Sometimes I have to move apps from the memory card to the phone, sometimes I have to delete the app then re-install it... and like my app "Air attack"... it simply wont install?

Any ideas about how to fix it or what

I have been getting the same error message on some installs. I have no idea what's wrong.

Try going to Settings > Applications > All > find Market > clear data

That will wipe out any cached market data. I have no idea if it will fix the problem but it's a good troubleshooting step.

First off, there is no reason to have apps on the SD card on the Droid X (unless you have like 400 or so) Moto gave us 8GB for app storage, use it.

other than that, i agree, wipe cache/data for the market and see if that helps. i go that error the other day, but it was only once, and i just re-installed no problem.

Could be a problem with your SD card if you are installing stuff to it. Might have a bad sector, which would probably cause update issues for whatever app lost it's data into that bad sector.

I have around 350 apps installed on my DX and still have 5 or 6GB of free space available. I keep everything installed on the phone, don't do any App2SD stuff, absolutely no need for it on the DX.
