hello i'm a fresh android user and my terminal is an unrooted galaxy S plus (italy). hope im in the right section of the forums for this request. The issue as said is that since yesterday when attempting to install or update any app from google play the download completes (according to the notifications in the bar) but in Google play the message "downloading" never goes away and the installation never starts regardless of how long on waits for the process to complete. before this malfunction i installed titanium backup and removed it when i realized it could do nothing at all without root access.
Please note that i can still uninstall apps using the google play store 'uninstall' button or using the android menu settings->applications->manage apps , i can install downloaded .APKs and my wifi connection is working. in fact everything is working, except Google Play.
I understand this is a somewhat common issue and tried out the fixes i was able to fing googling around. first i attempted to wipe Google Play Store data and cache and rebooted the phone to no effect. Equally unsuccessful was wiping /cache in recovery mode , so I checked the space in the device and there was plenty (used 600 megs, available 700- more or less). I still decided to uninstall some useless apps and moved back all apps from SD to device (btw i can't grasp why after moving them, in the manage apps->SD card all apps passed to the phone are still listed but there is the option to move them to SD card... so where are they ?). also tried to delete the android.secure folder but it is empty and currently found in my external SD with permissions preventing me to delete it (only d- whatever it means - no rw permissions) . at this point im fairly confused
If there some other fix to try i'd greatly appreciate your kind cooperation. In the ominous case that nothing works, what happens if i make a wipe ? this will just erase all my personal settings so that i'll have to reconfigure network, mail and other accounts, or will also wipe my external SD, so maybe i have to umount and phisically remove it first ?
many thanks
