I am new at all this, but enjoyed working through the process of rooting my Captivate and then installing the Slim Bean ROM based on these instructions:

HOWEVER, it looks like I failed to back up some needed files and now my IMEI is unknown.
I've been searching for a fix and found this:

I am just not sure if it is the actual route for me or not. I do not want to further mess things up.
Any thoughts on what I can do? Any links to a step by step that fixes the problem?
Also, any links to someplace that will help me understand how to protect the IMEI so as to not do this in the future?
