Root installed3g speed optimizer and now have no service

First, let me say that I've learned alot from this forum. I got my SV 3 days ago and already unlocked, s-offed, rooted, and installed a custom kernenl.

Everything was going awesome until I noticed my 3g speeds were in the low triple digits, 100-200 or so.

I saw many 3g speed optimizers and decided to try one out. BIG mistake. It didnt speed anything up whatsoever, and now my phone shows now service all the time. The built in connection optimizer crashes every 30 seconds or so, and I can't get into the data menu (*#*#4636#*#*) to check that its attempting to connect to the right network because (you guessed it), as soon as it loads up, settings crashes, and I'm right back to the dialpad.

I was sure to undo any settings on the program that it let me do before I uninstalled it.

Worst part is, I had just realized I havent made a backup yet, had problems when I tried. I was going to install titanium backup tonight. :(

Any ideas? I can reflash but I wanna try and avoid the hassle.

Thanks much guys!

Well it seems nothing was working. I tried clearing the cache, reloading the offending program, and checking all available settings all to no avail. Unfortunately when you have no service, the network settings in the setting menu are unaccessable so I wasnt able to get any help there either. :(

Well, I chose to do a full factory reset before I attempted reflashing and that worked like a charm it seems. I'm back into all the menus I was locked out of before, and nothing is crashing now. Now if only I can get Google Play to redownload my apps then I'll be sitting pretty.

I am still pretty flustered with the 3g though, but I don't think I'll screw with it through any apps. I remember when I had a Galaxy Prevail, I was able to access the data menu and make changes to proxies, specifically the multimedia proxy, which did bring my download speeds from 2-300 to 1 to 1.5Mbps. I was pretty happy with that, so I guess I'm going to write down all the settings as a backup (or take a screenshot, even better), and call Boost to get my SPC/MIL code. Then I'll see what I can do.

If I'm not mistaken I think the data menu on each phone differs on the number you dial.

Which Rom and kernel are you using? The custom kernel for jb is not fully functional as of now. Try reinstalling the stock kernel and see if that helps your 3g speeds. Just a shot in the dark.

The CWM factory reset worked like a charm. A little bit of a PITA to set everything up again. But certainly well worth it in this situation.

I wonder what the heck is wrong with this application that it breaks our data connection rather than enhancing it.worst thing is, I downloaded 3 or so of these so called optimizers at the same time, so I don't remember exactly which app broke things.

Oh well, I guess I'll stick with the speeds I have until someone posts a speed-fix that can be applied manually.
