Root Installing a new ROM

Cheers, budd ^^

Now used the ace hack. Now rom manager to simply flash custom rom right ?

For your first flash, you're better off doing it manually so you can get to know the ins and outs of clockwork. ROM Manager does everything for you and if it goes wrong, you'll be in a better position to fix it if you know your way around Clockwork.

What do you like the look of?

Once you have put a custom ROM on your phone, how would you go back to the legit ROM (if you wanted to?)

You run a tool called an RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility), and it will return your phone to a near factory state. It's relatively easy by all accounts, connect the phone to your PC, run the exe and voila. You then have to S-ON with jkoljo's S-OFF/S-On tool and then unroot with Visionary.

Right. Used ROM Manager to sort out a Sense 3.5 ROM, but it's terribly slow at times. I'd like to try a more popular ROM instead, what is the next step for moi ? Just flash another ROM using same method or do I have to get 'rid' of the current rom I'm on ?

Use clockwork and backup your current ROM (incase there's any issues and you want to go back to this ROM, as it's working).

Flash a new ROM over the top of the current one - this gets rid of the current one!

EDIT - don't forget to follow instructions and wipe, etc before putting a new ROM on!

My current ROM works, but it's slow. However, I did not tick to wipe all three sections. Only the bottom of the three was ticked. Now I will try another ROM and tick all three boxes to wipe I guess...

Ah yea, just checked and it has replaced it with his own kernel. Nice one for all the help ! Got his ROM running and it is as smooth as a baby buffalo's bum !
