Hi,I have the HTC Freestyle...it is a pretty cool little phone other than the fact that it does not run on Android OS it has Brew instead. Does anybody know if i can wipe off the Brew OS and install a version of android? And if so please link me to a OS that will work. Here are the specs of the HTC Freestyle-

  • OS:
    • Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP)
    • Touchscreen:
        • Capacitive, Multi-touch
    • Features:
      • Proximity sensor
      • System chip:
        • Qualcomm MSM7225
      • Processor:
        • Single core, 528 MHz
      • System memory:
        • 256 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM
      • Built-in storage:
        • 150 MB
      • Storage expansion:
        • Slot Type:
          • microSD, microSDHC
        • Maximum card size:
          • 32 GB

I have an 8gb Micro SD in it right now if that matters. A Yes or No answer is fine please just say why though! Many thanks

The problem would be the hardware support and drivers, and the fact that you'll be stuck with nothing better than Android 1.5 with that kind of hardware.

Not if you wanted. That still depends on whether there are ROMs which would support your device which is highly unlikely.

Running Android 1.5 nowadays is like using Windows 98 on your computer now. There's practically almost nothing compatible with it among the current and newer available programs.

Short answer, its technically possible but practically impossible to install Android on that phone since that would mean you would have to make your own custom Android ROM.
