Installing apps from different country

[kingdave]

Hi all,

I have an UNROOTED Desire HD and I'm looking to install some apps from the USA which aren't available in the UK market.

I've tried faking my location, which hasn't worked and I've tried searching for the apk as HTC Sync has an apk installer built in but I can't find the actual apk of the app I want.

I'm looking for the Showtime app. I appreciate that much of the videos and episodes of shows won't be viewable as I'm not in the US but I'd still like to have a go and see what its like.

Is there anyway of getting this installed without rooting (i.e. a non rooting way of faking my location) or does anyone know of anywhere I can get this particular apk file?

Thanks

Have you tried GetJar? I didn't check but they have increased their inventory.

Had a look on there just now and they don't have what I'm after.

Is there a way to fake your market location without rooting?

Try Market Enabler.. I used it once and immediately found the app I was looking for, after hours and hours of swearing and talking dirty to my phone.

I tried market enabled, but I couldn't get it to spoof my location just kept saying "houston, we have a problem".

Unless there's some special way to use it I'm missing out on?!

I also tried a long winded approach which reset the market app to the old style and used appbrain fast installer to load it directly before the market reupdated itself. That didn't work either.
