Help Installing apps via PC's USB

I just got this phone yesterday and spent over 5 hours trying to figure out how to install apps on the phone. I read through different forums with no luck getting anything installed and Kies won't let me install app from the market "not compatible" and my phone I5800L doesn't show in the drop down list.

I don't have a data plan at the moment and still waiting for my wireless router from a family member. The only way I can install is by connecting it to the PC (Windows 7 and Ubuntu).

*Edit* I found a highly recommend website to install app (AppBrain) but I am still having the same issue as how to install it via the PC's USB.

Any help or direction at this point would be appreciated.

Thank you

I figured it out just before throwing my phone across the office out of frustration. I was able to install Angry Birds but not Adobe 10.1 apk's. I downloaded the apk's from the web onto my PC before transferring it to my SD card on my phone via the USB (mass storage). By going from the home page --> Applications -->My Files and then clicking on the apk file to install it.
Would anyone know why I cannot install Adobe Flash 10.0.105? The error I am getting is "There is a problem parsing the package.".

Thank you

I wasn't aware we could root this phone (Apollo) from what I read online by doing a Google search. Do you know of a link which provided step by step on how to root this phone?

Thanks
