Installing apps without Market Access or ASTRO?

voddles

Newbie
Okay so i messed up yesterday, i rooted.
Then i thought it would be a good idea to uninstall some stock apps.
It wasn't.
I uninstalled Google Talk which i don't dream of ever using, seeing i'm in Sweden, the only country in the world that dislikes the IM application.

Market stopped working because of it, and i panicked, and restored the phone to the factory defaults. Now i'm stuck without any file manager, a market which doesn't work and a crappy phone UI.

So is there a way for me to install apk files to the phone, i need to install both Root Explorer, ASTRO and the gtalk.apk file which i have. Seeing as nobody was nice enough to instruct me of how to get write permissions in Droid Explorer, i'm out of ideas.

Anybody??

Dump your files on a website like Dropbox (online storage space) and open the .apk from there. It will open the basic Android installer to install the apk thus not requiring an external app :)

So i just do that from the phones website? Nice, i'll thank you when it's done and working.

Fast replying too, i thought i was screwed

And now the piece of crap is stuck in a restart loop.
That's it i'm getting an iphone.

LMAO. Thank you for making my, so far, a dull day work a little bit more enjoyable. If you made the mistake of uninstalling something after rooting that you probably shouldn't have since you didn't know what you were doing, you should get an iPhone. They're MUCH MUCH more idiot proof :p

Oh well, good luck with jailbreaking.. I just saw someone's iPhone jailbroken this weekend.. It was awfully slow because of it..
