Root Installing CWM

I am unsure if the D makes any difference on my phone. I just want to make sure incase I make a mistake

The D only represents the region, otherwise its same as the standard S5830 device. You can use all the stuff made for S5830 without any problems, just keep in mind that the S5830i is a very different device, keep away from its stuff.

That guide you found is extremely old, you can't flash any rom with that version of the CWM. Go with this one, this guide is comparatively new and the CWM is latest, there hasn't been any new version after this.
