Installing CyanogenMod

Thank you ironass. I know my question is pretty dumb, but there are so many different opinions on how to root etc.

So thanks.

I have just rooted my phone.

I am still reading about CyanogenMod.

I see you linked me to the nightly builds. What are nightly builds? Are they stable?

In addition i'm having trouble following the instructions on how to download and install CyanogenMod.

There are alot of links to different versions of things and it's pretty confusing for a beginner. If anyone could shed some light on this, it will be much appreciated.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S2(Rooted).

I didn't know there was a stable build for CM9 yet!

Nightly builds are experimental and are implemented at your own risk as they can cause problems and are not recommended for novices.

You will also need to install the latest Google App's package, gapps, either fro here:-

http://goo-inside.me/gapps

or by downloading Rom Manager from the Play Shop, here:-

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5rb3VzaGlrZHV0dGEucm9tbWFuYWdlci5saWNlbnNlIl0.

ROM Manager allows you to access a lot of the CM9 features and downloads.

Hope this helps.

Update: I just went with CM7. The first time I installed it...the phone wouldn't boot. I had to flash it twice for it to work.

It's worked and I am running on 2.3.7.

I'll wait until a stable build comes out before I try ICS.
