Installing more apps

I am using Samsung Galaxy Ace and i have seen that when i install a few apps like the large ones of 7 mbs, there is an error that phone memory is less. On the other hand, one of my friends use Motorola Defy and he has more apps than me and didn't get the error msg. Can somebody help me with this. I have installed a 8 GB micro SD card in it.
Thanks in advance!

Your SG Ace has only 0.158GB internal storage available for apps, the Defy has 2GB available for apps to install.

Most apps can be moved (a part of theirs) on the SD card, then they have a smaller size in the internal app storage.

You might try this for to install more apps.
Search at the Play Store with 'app2sd'.

As stated above, it doesn't matter how big an SD card you have. Apps install system data to the phone, not SD card. You can try moving apps to SD card using tools stated above (App2Sd) but it still won't let you install as many apps as the Defy.

This will get you some space:

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Maps > Uninstall (huge) updates
