Root Installing ROM & partitioning SD card

mhailo

Lurker
Have decided to install the WildChild V2 ROM, and need to partition my SD card. (I will be using ROM manager) I've read when you partition, the whole card is wiped - will this not delete vital files from the rooting process? Or are these restored back once done..

I understand how to install the ROM, but if someone could quickly guide me through the partitioning i'd be grateful, read so many different guides regarding this tonight, my head hurts!

Cheers

If you use mini-partition tool to do the partitioning it shouldn't wipe your card. When I used it it left all the data intact, but I had backed up the entire card before proceeding - we should always backup before doing anything major, right?

Although it is slanted towards Link2SD, this tutorial [TUTORIAL][Link2SD][ROOT]Updated! How to prep your SD card for it...Windoze Style - xda-developers is a good place to find guidance on using mini-partition tool.

Once you've made the partitions, you can put the card back into the phone and upload the ROM.

I wouldn't really use Rom manager if I were you. Although it works, it does have a history of giving more problems than solving them. use mini-partition Tool like slimchance has mentioned. I have used it for Link2SD and it's fairly simple
