Root Installing ROMS Problems.

Ive finally made some progress.
I have gotten Rom Manager to work by using a 4.x.x version.
But ive ran into some problems.
Im running 2.1.update1.
Im was trying to install some roms and here are my results.

Velocity 1.2.2Beta18 - Stuck on bootloop
Stormdroid 2.0 - Stuck on bootloop
LG Ally 2.2.2 Stock Rooted DEODEXED - Stuck on bootloop

However i did get Velocity 0.4 to recover.
But what do i need to do to goto Velocity 1.2.2 or Stormdroid 2.0

Edit : By the way, Im useing ClockwordMod Recovery v2.5.0.7 and im useing the "Install zip from sdcard" option.

Anyway you need to upgrade your system first before flashing from 2.1 to 2.2
Go to custom rom section in development threads on main page. Go in velocity and on the velocity 1.0 upgrade, trident posted a froyo upgrade method using the lg updater. You must do that first

All the links are dead.

Ive tried 2 versions of the LG Updater tools.
Ive downloaded the VS740ZV6 flashing kit it put me on versions 2.1-update1.

Then ive used LGMobileSupport Tool, It always tells me i have no updates.
Ive even tried the LG Ally Update tool from the marketplace.
Enabled OTA Updates via console in Velocity 0.4, Only updates apps.

Basically no roms, no updates,dead links, help please.
 
I'm stuck on the same level as you. I downgraded to 2.1-update and can not for the life of me figure out a way to get back to 2.2.1. I can't get OTA updates, same as you I only get app updates and my Ally says it is up to date.

I have been trying this with no luck. The update.zip starts then aborts every single time with the same error.

Edit: Here is the Froyo.zip that is referenced in the guide. It's the new automated version that is linked lower in the guide as Froyolite: http://savoxis.com/LG Ally/Roms/Project Froyo/

I wanna say flash the radio image in Deaths custom rom section. Im not sure if itl work tho. It looks like the froyo radio but not 100 percent

I flashed the radio image.
I figured it was used to correct OTA Updates.
Tried *#*#CHECKING#*#*, Didnt even alert me that it succeeded.
LG Updater Tool still says no updates.
Am i going the completely wrong direction?
Im not really sure what to do from here.
