Root [Instruct] How to change rom APNs

ALL CREDIT GOES TO SACREDBLOODLIN FOR THIS TUTORIAL. I simply thought this would be useful for some users that use the Cricket Vitality or the Alltel Admire. We all want to flash roms and have MMS working right off the bat so why not make the changes before flashing your desired ROM. All I simply did was ask Sacred and posted this.

First, find the APN settings you need on Google or something and keep the info handy.

After you find them, take the rom you want to edit and open it with 7Zip or WinRar or something.

Open the folder and navigate to System>etc to find the "apns-conf.xml" file.

Open the file with WordPad and look for the lines that state the APNs are for MetroPCS, it should be followed by:
mcc="311"
mnc="66"
apn="default"
iptype = "0"
inactivity_timer = "130"
statustype = "0"
user=""
server="*"
password=""
These are the settings you will want to change to whatever you find on that there internets for the carrier you need. There might be others but this is the section you need to be in.

After you make the necessary adjustments you close WordPad, making sure to save the document.

Go back to the beginning of the folder where the data, META-INF and system folders are, highlight all of the stuff there, right click and then zip it with whatever program you use to compress things.

When you are done, it should be a zip file that when opened has the data, META-INF and system folders, and possibly other things.

After its compressed, take the zip file and stick it on your SD card and flash away. :)
